After a night of dancing, sometimes the last thing you want to do is head home in your stiletto heels. One chap in Britan had an aha moment after getting tired of giving his girlfriend a piggyback home every Saturday night and came up with a solution – vending machines that sell flats! Brilliant!

The Sky high high heels are said to be a mere 8 inches. That’s a full inch more than vertical daredevil stiletto fans like Victoria Beckham and Gwyneth Paltrow dare to wear now.

“You can find 7.9in heels in the fetish trade, but this will be the first time they make mainstream fashion,” says Louboutin.

“There will be a platform under the front of the shoe, but only a high heel at the back. It has to work technically because you have to ensure that the woman can walk – you have to do things inside the shoe.

“To me, the ultimate high heel looks just like a perfect drawing, that would be true beauty; like a drawing of the ultimate skyscraper.”

Louboutin said one customer had even asked him to design her a pair of 10in stilettos.

Experts now say the unnatural stance women adopt when wearing killer heels can affect their internal organs and fertility. It’s suggested that the forward tilting of the pelvis caused by wearing stilettos means that the internal organs are compressed, causing a condition called visceroptosis.

Doctors have warned the overindulgence of high heels can lead all kinds of problems, but most women can’t give up their heels.  Sales have reportedly skyrocketed after seeing celebrities such as Scarlett Johansson and Victoria Beckham wearing stiletto heels.

Personally, I think both are unproven theories, but I prefer to believe in the latter.

I thought this was interesting since I’ve seen a few women break a heel and wind up on their assets, fortunately they didn’t break their ankle. The woman mentioned above also had to take time off work.

For shoe retailers, this is gold. Although the profit margins between shoes and bags are comparable, people buy three times as many shoes as they do bags.
