A couple of interesting articles appeared in the UK’s Guardian and Telegraph newspapers are suggesting that shoes are now the “it” item. It’s about time!!

In the past, it has been about the handbag, but at long last shoes are getting the attention they deserve.

Even men tend to notice when a woman is wearing a nice pair of high heels, but you never hear a (straight) man say “nice purse” or something like that.

It is also being predicted that women will soon be investing in fewer but more expensive shoes, which sounds good because women aren’t doing themselves any favors shopping at places like Payless.

UK Department store Harvey Nichols reports a 15 per cent rise in shoe sales this season and a higher demand for catwalk heels – the kind models wear in fashion shows – more than the tamer (shorter) ‘kitten’ heels.
