We’re all familiar with the expression “If the shoe fits…”, but it turns out that at least 75% of the women asked in a survey said their shoes don’t fit properly.

In a survey conducted by Harper’s Bazaar magazine, about half of the 1,000 UK women questioned admitted to owning more than 30 pairs of shoes. It gets better. One in eight reckoned they had at least 100 pairs.

The study discovered that one in ten women now spend more than $1,000 on shoes each year, and one in four would even choose designer heels over paying the bills.

The magazine also spoke to 1,000 men, with more than 80 per cent agreed stilettoes were the sexiest footwear. Also, half of the men questioned admitted asking their girlfriends to wear just their heels in bed, although about 79 per cent of women said they had had sex wearing just their shoes.

It was also discovered that at least 55% of men had to carry their girlfriends home because her feet hurt.
